County Facilities Earns Top Scores with ENERGY STAR Awards!

Hamilton County’s continued commitment to energy efficiency and the environment shines with five buildings receiving 2024 ENERGY STAR Awards, the most widely recognized platform for whole-building energy performance. Using the EPA's 1-100 scale, to be ENERGY STAR certified, a building must meet at least a score of 75. Five County buildings scored higher:

Todd B Portune Center for County Government – Score 87
Alms & Doepke – Score 95
800 Broadway – Score 84
250 William Howard Taft – Score 83
230 East 9th – Score 83

The Alms & Doepke building (home of Hamilton County Job and Family Services), is in the top 5% of energy-efficient buildings in the country. Fantastic accomplishment for the County Facilities department, their team is responsible for maintaining the standards set for energy efficiency and completing the annual certification process.
