Purpose:

America will celebrate its 250th anniversary on July 4, 2026. The Ohio Commission for the U.S. Semiquincentennial (also referred to as America 250-Ohio or AM 250-OH) was formed through the OH. Rev. Code ยง 149.309 in 2022. The state commission's purpose is to lead the effort to amplify stories of Ohio's contributions to the U.S. for the past 250+ years and to create a sense of pride about the impact that Ohio and Ohioans have on the state, nation, and the world. The resolution of Hamilton County as a formal AM 250-OH Community will task a committee with supporting public awareness of the statewide initiatives, and coordinating recommendations of local initiatives leading up to the 250th anniversary.

Establishing Authority:

A resolution adopted by the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) of Hamilton County, Ohio, March 7, 2024.
